Prior to Birth
- 1 to 2 visits in your third trimester to cover:
- Assistance in preparing a birth and postpartum plan
- Discuss comfort measures
- Questions or concerns
- Phone, email and text support
During Labor
- Provide emotional support to nurture and protect the woman's birth experience memory
- Support you during decision making
- Provide physical support through non-medical comfort measures including:
- Comforting touch (foot/hand rub, back pressure, double hip squeeze, etc.)
- Guided relaxation exercises
- Hot and cold compresses
- Support in position changes
Delivery and Postpartum
- Continuous support 1 to 2 hours after birth as needed
- 1 postpartum in-home visit within the first week after baby's birth to review your birth experience
